  Gervais is a city in Marion County, located in the Salem metro area.
  The community was named for Joseph Gervais, pioneer.
  The latitude of Gervais is 45.108N. The longitude is -122.896W.
  It is in the Pacific Standard time zone. Elevation is 184 feet.
  The estimated population, in 2005, was 2,292.
       
  Located north of Salem and south of Portland off Highway 99E,
  Gervais is a vibrant community offering a small town atmosphere
  with convenient access to I-5 and the Portland and Salem areas 
  and has a progressive city government.
